A HOUSE WITHOUT PARENTS.

I stand at a distance and look at my magnificent mansion,

Which was once alive with cries and laughter, needless to mention,

My sister and I played, chuckled, clashed, and fell to create tension,

But my parents ran to our rescue, asking us to maintain caution.

The youth came, we sisters went to our respective homes,

But our love for our parents brought us back to visit with our spouses,

Would roam freely, without anyone to object in our trousers,

We were free to do our will, and our parents allowed us.

Mom cooked delicacies of our demand for us,

They would sit with us, bear our tantrums, and discuss,

Everything was fair, and nothing was unjust.

We always were in bliss, and their care was perfect.

Today they are gone to their final destination,

The house which did breathe is dead, and there is no invitation,

Silence rules the house, and there is no celebration,

Deserted, it is haunting me and creating irritation.

The gate where dad stood once with arms open to welcome,

Has dust and leaves falling as if it does not recognize,

The door where mom stood with a broad smile,

It is now closed as if nobody in it did reside.

Where are you all, my lifeline?

I never expected this life so dreary and without shine,

Today I realize what parents are and their significance,

Without them, not only the house but our lives also seem worthless.
